Hu Cunsheng, styled "Hulong Juren," hails from Hujiazhuang, Cao County, Shandong. Born in 1956 in Henan's Kaifeng. Currently a council member of the China National Calligraphers Association, a member of the Henan Calligraphers Association, Vice President of the Shandong Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, Vice President of the China Qingdao Masters of Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, Vice President of the Kaifeng Damei Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, and a council member of the Liu Gengsan Calligraphy Art Research Society. He studied under the renowned calligrapher Mr. Jin Xuan. In 1991, he won the First Prize in the China Strait两岸 Calligraphy and Painting Competition. In June 1992, he was awarded the title of "National Art Master" by the China National Art Masters Association. His works "Tiger" and "Dragon" have been collected and exhibited by the China Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, the Henan Military District, the Shandong Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, and Shaanxi Academy of Painting and Calligraphy. Deeply aware that the sea of learning is boundless and deviations from convention are inevitable, he lets his brush flow wherever inspiration leads.
