 Song Huaping, born in January 1955, Han ethnicity, non-partisan, holds a university degree. Currently serving as Vice Chairman of the China Calligraphers Association, Standing Committee Member of the Henan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Consultant to the Henan Provincial Government, Chairman of the Henan Provincial Calligraphers Association, and Visiting Professor of Calligraphy at Zhengzhou University and Henan University. Since 1984, he has worked successively at the Henan Provincial Calligraphers Association and the Henan Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles. His calligraphy works have won the Longmen Gold Award from Henan Province; in 2009, he was named one of the "Ten Most Influential Figures in Chinese Calligraphy"; in 2011, he was awarded the Contribution Award and Honorary Award by the China Calligraphers Association for the 30th Anniversary of its founding. He has served as a judge for the 3rd and 5th China Calligraphy Lanting Awards, and the 8th, 10th, and 11th National Calligraphy Exhibitions. He has held three solo calligraphy exhibitions and published three personal calligraphy collections. His translated article "Pursuing the Realm of Solitary Elevation—The Calligraphy Art of Kosaka Kiseki" and his calligraphy essay "The Running Script Brushwork of Wang Duo" have been published.
