Si Jiyu

Shi Jiyu, a renowned contemporary painter and calligrapher, professor. Henan Shangqiu native, currently resides in Kaifeng. He began studying Chinese painting with his father from childhood. At the age of seventeen, he was admitted to the Department of Geography at Lanzhou University, where he later remained to teach and obtained the academic title of lecturer. During the "Hundred Flowers Campaign," he was labeled as a rightist due to his outspokenness, after which he devoted himself wholeheartedly to brush and ink. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Kaifeng Branch of the Henan Calligraphy and Painting Association, President of Tokyo Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and President of Zhongyuan Calligraphy and Painting Academy, among other positions.
