Ma Handong (Ma Handong)

Ma Handong graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Zhoukou Normal University in 1989, member of the Henan Province Artists Association, director of the Zhoukou City Artists Association, vice president of Changjian Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, contemporary realist flower-and-bird painter, and invited artist of Guofeng Yuanlai Youhua Studio. His paintings are bold yet restrained, with a distinct personality and rich traditional cultural flavor. In 2016, his Chinese painting "Autumn Fruits" won the Excellent Award (highest prize) at the "21st Henan Province Exhibition of New Artists and New Works." In 2017, his Chinese painting "Lotus Pond in Snow" won the Excellent Work Award at the 8th China Painting and Calligraphy Competition. In 2017, his Chinese paintings "Summer Solstice" and "Listening to Snow" both won the Excellent Award (highest prize) at the "22nd Henan Province Exhibition of New Artists and New Works." In 2018, his Chinese painting "Snow Lotus" participated in the "Celebrating the 19th National Congress of the CPC Painting Competition" hosted by Chuanhui District, Zhoukou, and won the Second Prize; the work, appealing to both refined and popular tastes, has been actively collected by enthusiasts both at home and abroad.
