Dou Shuli, male, Han, born in 1949, from Zhoukou, Henan, China; member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association; researcher of the China Elderly Calligraphy and Painting Research Society; member of the Henan Calligraphers Association; special consultant of the Henan Confucius Calligraphy and Painting Academy; his calligraphy style is fresh and elegant yet vigorous and majestic; first-class calligrapher; awarded the title of National Treasure Artist in 2012, and named one of the Top 100 Inspiring Chinese Cultural Figures. Master Dou Shuli began practicing calligraphy at the age of six and has been diligently writing for decades, studying under the master calligraphers He Yangxi and Dou Zhonghua. He has extensively practiced the styles of the Two Wangs, Ouyang Xun, and Yan Zhenqing, and specializes in large-character inscriptions. His calligraphy works have won over 40 awards in national exhibitions and are collected by friends both domestically and internationally.
