       Liu Hongxing, male, born in 1964, a member of the Communist Party of China, bachelor's degree, from the Yellow River floodplain of Dongming County, Heze City, Shandong Province, pen name Qixing, studio name Qixing Caotang, alternate pseudonyms Laojie, Luxi Han, Shali. Member of the Chinese Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association, Academician of the Beijing Renhe Calligraphy Academy, Poet, Painter and Calligrapher of the Xizhi Painting and Calligraphy Daily. Member of the Puyang City Elderly Calligraphy Association.        Since childhood, he has been deeply passionate about calligraphy, specializing in running-cursive script and creating works such as "Dragon" and "Monkey King Paying Homage to Longevity." Later, he was profoundly influenced by renowned masters including Wang Xizhi, Zhang Xu, Huaisu, Lin Sanzhi, Shen Peng, and Jia Pingwa. Guided by national calligraphy masters and local Puyang experts such as Liu Wenzhuan and Tong Xianghe, his love for calligraphy deepened further. Their works exude strength and grandeur with an aura of commanding power; after prolonged study and copying, he was naturally drawn to the intrinsic fragrance of ink.        Through years of rigorous practice, his running-cursive style draws inspiration from Huaisu and other historical masters, blending vigor and grace, harmonizing firmness with fluidity, achieving elegance and clarity while maintaining rhythmic continuity and rich brushwork. He respects ancient traditions, believing that learning from the ancients elevates one’s character and fosters gradual progress. Thus, within the balance of inheritance and innovation, he has developed a unique personal style that expresses individuality.        Through relentless efforts through harsh winters and scorching summers, he has participated in systemic, national, provincial, municipal, and county-level calligraphy exhibitions. In 2008, he received the Outstanding Award at the calligraphy exhibition hosted by the Henan Provincial Water Resources Bureau. In 2015, he participated in the commemorative calligraphy exhibition marking the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan and the Anti-Fascist War; in September 2015, he took part in the Puyang City Double Ninth Festival Elderly Calligraphy Exhibition, with his work published in the Puyang Municipal Government’s Economic Journal; in October 2015, he won third prize in the Puyang Municipal Government’s essay contest “The Chinese Dream, My Dream,” ranking second overall in his department; in November 2015, his work “Yuan Meng” won second prize at the National Annual Conference of Poets, Painters, and Calligraphers; in 2015, he received the Outstanding Award in the final round of the First National Online Calligraphy Art Competition. In July 2016, his work “Qiang Guo Zan” won second prize in the Fourth “Great Man’s Ode, Chinese Dream” National Poetry, Literature, and Calligraphy Competition and was included in the anthology “Great Man’s Ode, Chinese Dream: National Collection of Poetry, Literature, and Calligraphy Works,” published by China Cultural Publishing House and distributed nationwide by Xinhua Bookstores. From November 18 to 24, 2016, he participated in the calligraphy exhibition held in Changsha, Hunan Province, commemorating the 118th anniversary of Liu Shaoqi’s birth and organized by the Han Liu Culture Research Association. His calligraphy piece “Qiang Guo Zan” has been published in multiple outlets including the Xizhi Painting and Calligraphy Daily, and awarded and distributed at the Fan County Yellow River Calligraphy Exhibition.       2009: Awarded the title of “Harmonious Family” by the Puyang Municipal Propaganda Department, Municipal Women’s Committee, and Municipal Office of Civilized Construction.
      2015: Nominated for the Second “Touching Fan County” Good Person Award by the Fan County Party Committee and Government.
      2017 April: Awarded the title of “Model Worker” by the Henan Yellow River Water Resources Commission and the Henan Yellow River Federation of Trade Unions; also honored as an Excellent Communist Party Member and a Five-Star Family in the city. His work “Yi Qiu” received recognition from the Chinese Poets, Painters and Calligraphers Network, Chinese Prose Network, and Huaxia Boxue International Cultural Exchange Center.
      2017: National Pioneer of New Era Culture Award.
Original songs “Huanghe Niujiaowan” and “Yi Qiu” were published on the People’s Artist official website from September 20–22, 2017. Over a dozen works including “Chinese Dream, Yellow River Sentiment,” “Sister,” “A Bowl of Lamb Soup,” “WeChat,” and “Yellow River, My Home” have been promoted on the Shenzhou Original Lyrics platform.
