Personal Profile

Chang Songjian: Member of the China Calligraphers Association, born in 1955 in Yuzhou City, Henan Province. Holding a junior college diploma, he has been passionate about calligraphy since childhood. Over the past forty years, he has rigorously studied ancient methods and practiced copying the styles of "Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, and Zhao Mengfu," thoroughly reading and imitating masterpieces from dynastic steles and rubbings. With deep interest and profound affection, he has developed his own distinctive style, earning praise from fellow calligraphers and recognition from society. His works have been published and exhibited in publications and exhibitions such as China Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper, Calligraphy Magazine, Xuchang Mass Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, Mass Art Exhibition, and Henan Province Calligraphy and Painting Masterpieces Touring Exhibition. His works have been collected by numerous domestic and international institutions, including the "Korean Songpo Calligraphy and Painting Association" and the "Songshan Shaolin Temple Scripture Repository," as well as various government agencies, hotels, and organizations. He has been honored with the title of "National Individual Calligraphy and Painting Artist." He is deeply committed to charitable causes and has donated his works on multiple occasions, being named "Love Calligrapher" by the Henan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs. Currently, he serves as a Committee Member of the "China Federation of Famous Artists in Calligraphy and Painting," Deputy Director-General of the "Henan Charity Calligraphy and Painting Academy," Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the "Xuchang Branch of the Henan Charity Calligraphy and Painting Academy," Council Member of the "People's Artists Association," Member of the "China Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association," and President of the "Henan Zifang Calligraphy and Painting Academy."
