Personal Profile

Wang Xuanmin, Han ethnicity, style name Xigeng, studio name Dumei Studio, was born in 1965 in Changge City, Henan Province, the hometown of Zhong Yao, the founding master of regular script. Since childhood, he has been passionate about culture and art, specializing in ink-wash flower, bird, insect, and fish paintings, and has developed profound expertise in the appreciation of ceramic and bonsai art, as well as in craft and artistic design. He studied under Professor Shan Chunming of the Special Arts Department at the Central Academy of Arts and Design (the only formal disciple of Master Shan Chunming). His works are imbued with Zen philosophy, featuring fresh, lively, and vivid compositions. Over the years, he has participated in local, provincial, municipal, and national painting and calligraphy exhibitions, receiving numerous honors. He is currently a member of the Xuchang City Farmers Painters and Calligraphers Research Association, a member of the Henan Province Painters and Calligraphers Association, a member of the China Painters and Calligraphers Association, vice president of the Changge City Cultural and Museum Friendship Association, and executive vice president of the Zijingshan Painting and Calligraphy Academy.
