Ma Zhenliang

Ma Zhenliang, the master craftsman of Dechang Studio in Zhuxian Town, was born in 1958. He is a member of the China Calligraphers and Artists Association; a member of the China Cultural Arts Market Promotion Association; a council member of the Henan Provincial Painting and Calligraphy Association; vice president of the Kaifeng Dunfu Academy Painting and Calligraphy Research Association; lecturer at a Technical Institute, holding a university degree. He has successively won the Excellence Award in the adult category at the annual finals of the National Calligraphy Art Online Competition, and the Excellence Award in the China-Australia Dual-City Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition jointly held by Kaifeng Sotheby's Cultural Arts Development Center and the Australian Calligraphers Association. In 2017, his inscription for China's Great Wall—"The Silk Road camel trails connect all directions, and the Chinese nation are descendants of the dragon"—was selected. In 2018, he won the Silver Award at the Second National Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition hosted by Henan Shiwang Cultural Arts Center titled "Stay True to Our Original Aspirations and Keep Our Mission Firmly in Mind." He also received the Silver Award at the Kaifeng Municipal Federation of Trade Unions' exhibition titled "Commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up" for workers' painting, calligraphy, and photography. In 2019, he ranked second among "Gold Medal Calligraphers" in the online selection competition titled 'Searching for Henan’s Gold Medal Painters and Calligraphers' organized by Shenzhen Nuowei Media. In June this year, he was invited to participate in the "Silk Road" Hong Kong-Macau Painting and Calligraphy Exchange Exhibition held in Hong Kong and Macau, where he was awarded the title of Outstanding Painter and Calligrapher. His works have been collected by Zhongyuan Collection Newspaper, Henan Dahua Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Kaifeng Dunfu Academy, Lankao County Culture Bureau, and renowned individuals and friends both domestically and internationally.
