 Ma Guoqiang, born in 1964, is a military calligrapher. He initially studied the calligraphy of the Two Wangs, later turned to Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan, practicing diligently and persistently. He has participated in numerous exhibitions and won multiple gold, silver, and bronze awards. In December 2008, his work was rigorously reviewed and evaluated by the organizing and judging committees of the "Third China Divine Charm Cup Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Competition," earning him the Gold Award in the Youth and Middle-aged Group and the title of "Elite of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Arts." In April 2009, his exhibited works at the "Chinese Classics Ancient Poetry and Calligraphy Competition" won two Grand Prizes and one First Prize. In June 2009, he received the Silver Award at the inaugural "Ink Ode to China" National Painting and Calligraphy Competition and was conferred the title of "Ambassador of Chinese Culture and Love." In November 2009, his work was selected for the "National Painting and Calligraphy Invitational Competition Celebrating the 60th Anniversary of New China," and he was awarded the titles of "Outstanding Contributor Red Artist" and "Artistic Meritorious Figure Promoting Unity and Harmony." He currently serves as Dean and Professor of the Calligraphy and Painting Institute at China Confucius University, People's Artist, and Dean of Henan Yongmei Pavilion Calligraphy and Painting Institute.
