Personal Profile

Guo Jianguo, male, born in 1960, a member of the Communist Party of China, native of Baofeng County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. He has loved calligraphy and painting since childhood and specializes in freehand-style flower-and-bird painting. Through decades of artistic practice and exploration, he has inherited traditional techniques, absorbed strengths from various sources, and innovatively combined traditional and modern brushwork methods, gradually developing his own distinctive painting style. He has won numerous awards in national, provincial, and municipal calligraphy and painting exhibitions. His peony-themed works are especially beloved by art enthusiasts and have been continuously collected by renowned individuals both domestically and overseas. Currently, he holds the title of National First-Class Artist, is a member of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, a member of the Henan Provincial Artists Association, a director of the Henan Flower-and-Bird Painting Research Society, honorary vice president of the Beijing Yihaidanqing Calligraphy and Painting Academy, honorary director of the Beijing Oriental Hanlin Calligraphy and Painting Academy, vice chairman of the Pingdingshan Municipal Artists Association, and chairman of the Baofeng County Artists Association.
