Personal Profile
Huang Xia, alias Yin, styled Ruoran, born in January 1982, native of Henan Guangshan. Scholar at Xie Mei Pavilion Calligraphy and Painting Academy, she has loved calligraphy and painting since childhood. Initially, she studied under teacher Liu Baoguang — a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, director of the Henan Provincial Youth Calligraphy Association, and student of an associate professor at the College of Fine Arts, Zhanjiang Normal University in Guangdong Province. She later had the good fortune to meet Master Yan Shi from the art world, and was deeply moved by his spirit of plum blossoms! “Greeting spring, it blooms early; standing alone, unafraid of cold; fearing to fall behind other flowers, no one else pays it special heed.” In the county’s first primary and secondary school students’ art festival, she received the Second Prize and Third Prize for Artwork Instruction; in Guangshan County’s “China Life Cup” painting, calligraphy, and essay competition celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, she won the Outstanding Instructor Award. Grateful for all encounters — lifelong pursuit of learning knows no end; with kindred spirits in heart, wishes stretch a thousand miles!
