Cao Shuangsuo, styled Qingxi and pseudonym Hɑihan, was born in 1959 in Luoyang, Henan. In 1980, he studied calligraphy and painting under the renowned ink-wash painter Professor Zhang Zhizhong and the celebrated oil painter Mr. He Kongde. For forty years, he has diligently practiced his art without pause, deeply immersing himself in study, accumulating profound traditional Chinese cultural cultivation and solid brushwork skills, gradually forming an artistic style characterized by grandeur, passionate expressiveness, elegance, refinement, and the harmonious integration of righteousness and wonder. He is currently a member of the China Artists Association and Vice President of the Chinese Yanhuang Culture Calligraphy and Painting Research Association.
In 2002, his works participated in the China International Science, Technology and Culture Achievements Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition and won the Gold Award; in the same year, he was conferred the title of “Chinese Strength-Style Artist” by the China Artists Association. In 2008, his works were included in “The Treasury of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masterpieces.” At present, the market quotation for his artworks is 6,000 RMB per square foot.
His works have been reported on and collected by multiple media outlets, including China Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper, Calligraphy Guide Newspaper, Collection Journal, and Oriental TV Station.
