Personal Profile

Yu Bo, originally named Li Junchang, also known as Yubo, styled himself as the Master of Moyuantang. Born in 1981, he is from Henan Kaifeng. He is a National First-Class Calligrapher, Vice President of Kaifeng Antique Chamber of Commerce, and Member of Henan Calligraphers Association.

He was introduced to calligraphy by his maternal grandfather in childhood. In his early twenties, he studied under Mr. Yang Jingbo, a calligrapher from Qixian County. He initially practiced the styles of Ouyang Xun and Yan Zhenqing to establish structural strength, then turned to the Two Wangs (Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi) to pursue spiritual elegance. He extensively studied various masters to absorb their strengths, specializing particularly in miniature regular script (fly-head small regular script), and cultivated poetry, calligraphy, painting, and seal carving simultaneously. He is currently a member of the China Art Society, Honorary Dean of China Public Welfare Runcai Calligraphy and Painting Academy, member of Henan Calligraphy and Painting Society, Director of Kaifeng Song Capital Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, and Advisor of Kaifeng Sanhetang Calligraphy and Painting Academy. His calligraphy and paintings are highly popular domestically and internationally, especially his miniature regular script works such as the Diamond Sutra, Tao Te Ching, Heart Sutra of Prajna Paramita, ancient poems, and literary rhapsodies, which are favored and collected by numerous art galleries and entrepreneurs across provinces and cities. His works have even been exported to Indonesia, the United States, and other regions. Although he has passed his thirties, he continues to diligently cultivate his art in the sea of ink, taking joy in lifelong companionship with brush and ink!
