Wei Fazhan, male, Han ethnicity, born in May 1964, from Jiyuan, Henan. Style name Yuanquan, pen name Zhengzhi, sobriquet Heyang Jushi, member of the Communist Party of China, holds a college diploma. Inherited family tradition since childhood, deeply passionate about calligraphy; began intensive practice in middle age and has been diligently practicing ever since. Studied regular script under Liu Gongquan and Yan Zhenqing, running script after Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, and was taught by Duan Jiusi and Wang Chaojun. Member of Henan Calligraphers Association, President of Luoyang Yanhuang Painting and Calligraphy Academy. In 2007, his works were included in "Collected Masterpieces of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphers and Painters" and permanently collected by the organizing committee, which awarded him the title of "Contemporary Virtuous and Artistic Calligrapher and Painter of China." In July 2012, his works were included in "Moving China: Magnificent Sunset – Collected Works of Senior Chinese Calligraphers and Painters," earning him the honorary title of "Outstanding Meritorious Calligrapher and Painter of China." In August of the same year, his works were included in "Majestic China: Collection of Calligraphy and Painting." In October of the same year, his works were included in "Sunrise at Shaoshan: Selected Works of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters," and he was awarded the honorary title of "Chinese Red Culture Calligrapher and Painter." His works have been collected by the Organizing Committee of the Dongguan Guanyin Mountain Health and Culture Festival. In August 2013, his work won the gold award in the "Harmonious Prosperity National Painting, Calligraphy, Photography, Poetry and Literature Art Competition." His works were selected for the 20th, 21st, and 22nd Henan Provincial Mass Calligraphy Exhibitions. His works have been exhibited and collected by media outlets including the Youth Calligraphy Newspaper, Chinese Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Network, Xizhi Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper, China News Service Hunan Branch, and Calligraphy Newspaper.
