Wang Hongchang, pen name: Hongyun Changxiu, male, Han ethnicity, born in 1948, college-educated, member of the Communist Party of China, retired official. Currently a member of the Henan Provincial Senior Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, member of the Kaifeng Senior Calligraphy and Painting Research Association, member of the Kaifeng Senior Artists Association, Secretary-General of the Kaifeng New District Calligraphers and Painters Association, and Vice President of the Kaifeng Jingyun Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Certified by the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters Database as an Outstanding Chinese Artist. I have loved calligraphy and painting since childhood, studied painting diligently under the personal guidance of renowned masters, and was apprenticed to Wang Shaoqing, a famous Chinese calligrapher-painter and Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts, specializing particularly in meticulous-style (gongbi) painting. My exhibited works have won multiple awards. Among them, the ancient lady painting "Four Great Beauties" won the second prize in the Henan Xingyu Cup Calligraphy and Painting Competition, and the gongbi flower-and-bird painting "National Elegance and Auspiciousness" won the first prize in the Henan Provincial Senior Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition. Most of my works have been collected by exhibiting institutions and friends in the calligraphy and painting circles.
