 Guo Minglu, originally named Guo Lu, was born in 1983 in Kaifeng, an ancient capital of eight dynasties. She graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of the Chinese Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, is a professional painter and a first-class artist, and a member of the Henan Artists Association.
In her childhood, she studied Chinese painting under Xu Yuqing, President of the Kaifeng Artists Association and a renowned landscape and bird-and-flower painter, achieving profound mastery in landscape painting.
,She prefers to use vigorous brushwork to express herself, striving to utilize the ever-changing ink and brush techniques to create diverse artistic effects, fully inheriting the authentic teachings ofMaster Xu Yuqing.
Later, introduced by someone, she apprenticed under the renowned meticulous-style painter Wang Shaoqing to study meticulous painting,
specializing in bird-and-flower paintings featuring tigers, eagles, cats, fish, peonies, etc., especially excelling in peonies, truly inheriting Master Wang Shaoqing’s authentic style.
Her works feature novel conceptions and vivid, lifelike imagery, rendered with flexible and varied brushwork full of delightful charm, offering viewers visually pleasing beauty that captivates the eye. Her works have been collected by domestic and international collectors.
In 2016, she held the
Guo Minglu Chinese Painting Exhibition in Guangdong.
In 2017, she published “Guo Minglu’s Collection of Bird-and-Flower and Landscape Paintings”.
In 2018, her works were collected by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
In 2019, she was invited as a guest on CCTV’s Painting and Calligraphy Channel.
