Personal Profile

Zhu Denghai: Courtesy name Rongzhi, pen name Shuyun, styled "Master of Sanzheng Hall," born in 1965, native of Henan Huojia, member of Xinxiang Calligraphers Association, researcher at the Beijing Great Wall Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute. Chinese name: Zhu Denghai, alias: Shuyun, nationality: China, birthplace: Huojia County Influenced by his grandfather and father since childhood, he developed a fondness for calligraphy at an early age. He began his studies with Yan, Liu, and Ouyang styles, practicing daily without interruption. In his youth, he studied the Yi Ying Stele and the Lique Stele, gaining insight into the ancient elegance and charm of Han dynasty clerical script. During high school, he concurrently focused on the small regular scripts of Zhong Yao and Wang Xizhi, from which he greatly benefited. Initially guided and corrected by his father-in-law, Mr. Li Zhonglian, he entered the proper path of calligraphy. Later, he received further instruction from Mr. Liang, a member of the China Calligraphers Association, which helped him take another step forward in systematic calligraphy study. In 2016, he followed Mr. Liang to study clerical script and gradually comprehended the Dao of calligraphy. In 2017, he graduated from the Yancheng Copying and Creation Seminar at the Training Center of the China Calligraphers Association, embarking on a formal, professional artistic journey in calligraphy. In 2018, he completed the sixth national session of the Calligraphy Creation Seminar, Beijing Normal University class. In 2019, he graduated from the seventh national session of the Calligraphy Creation Seminar, Beijing Normal University class. In 2019, he entered the Mentor Studio at the Training Center of the China Calligraphers Association, studying under mentor Liu Hongyang. The path of calligraphy is long and arduous, Yet with diligent brushwork, perseverance remains steadfast.
