Han Xingyu, originally named Han Yunqiang; styled Xingyu, also known as Xizhou Painter, Master of Banmu Field, Commoner of Xizhou, Zhuyuan Hermit, and Master of Moyan Studio, etc. Born in 1989 in ancient Xizhou (now Henan Xinyang Xixian). Has loved traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, poetry, and music since childhood. Passionate about flowers, grasses, fish, insects, and landscapes. Made many virtuous friends; received initial painting and calligraphy instruction from teachers Bian Zhong and Wu Shengjing. Graduated from the Fine Arts program at Hebei Normal University. Studied flower-and-bird painting under renowned Chinese flower-and-bird painters Mao Jikun, Tang Hua, and Li Chengyi (disciple of the famous master Wang Xuetao); studied landscape painting under teachers Li Fuan and Guo Jingxue. Faithful to his teachers’ teachings and respectful of virtue, he has won numerous awards in various painting and calligraphy competitions and lives a reclusive life. Currently resides in Beijing, working as a professional painter and calligrapher engaged in art education, and founder of Beijing Moyan Studio. November 5, 2017: Work selected for the “11th China National Painting and Calligraphy Competition” hosted by China Art Competition Network and awarded “Excellence Award.” December 20, 2017: Organized students to participate in the 14th Sunshine Cup National Youth Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition and awarded “Outstanding Mentor Award.” December 9, 2018: Work selected for the “Remain True to Original Aspiration, Remember History, Continue Forward” Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition Commemorating the 125th Anniversary of Chairman Mao Zedong’s Birth and awarded Gold Prize (including a specially issued 24K gold-plated Chairman Mao badge). January 18, 2018: Work selected for the “New Era, New Journey — Painting, Calligraphy and Photography Exhibition” hosted by Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area Federation of Trade Unions and awarded Second Prize in the Painting Category. 2019: Traditional Chinese painting “Lotus Pond Delight” won First Prize in the “Blessings Fill Beijing · Spring Celebrates China” Impression Ronghua Painting, Calligraphy and Photography Outstanding Works Exhibition.
