Li Yanwei, styled Mubai, male, Hui ethnicity, born in 1971 in Xiangcheng City, Henan Province, is a National First-Class Artist, member of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, Deputy Director of the Landscape Painting Art Committee, Academician of the Confucius Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, and was named one of Xiangcheng City’s “Top Ten Outstanding Youths” in 2003. He has practiced painting since childhood, studying under masters Yao Quan and Huang Zhenxi. He successively created a 16-meter pyrography “Along the River During the Qingming Festival” and a 26-meter scroll “Five Hundred Arhats.” His achievements have been reported by CCTV Channel 1 and Channel 7. In 2015, he was selected as one of China’s Top 100 Calligraphers and Painters.
