Zhang Huali, female, holds a bachelor’s degree. Pen names: Meiting, Hehua Jushi. Studio names: Chayunzhai, Lanmei Caotang. Native of Zhengzhou, Henan. Member of the Henan Calligraphers and Painters Association, Academician of the Henan Dahua Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and Executive Director of the Henan Miyuan Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Passionate about calligraphy since childhood, she has practiced daily without interruption, regardless of season. Initially studied regular script through Yan Zhenqing and Ouyang Xun; studied clerical script via the Cao Quan Stele and Zhang Qian Stele; later specialized in the “Two Wangs” style, repeatedly studying masterpieces such as the Lanting Xu and Shengjiao Xu. Devoted greatest effort to Zhao Mengfu’s calligraphy, emphasizing the refinement of brushstrokes—vigorous yet elegant, exuberant yet solemn, spontaneous yet disciplined. Her aesthetic form transcends external stylistic constraints, instead distilling ink and brush to capture spiritual essence. Her calligraphy exhibits a style of clarity, uniqueness, and graceful ease. In 2014, her work won the Outstanding Work Award at the 23rd Henan Provincial Mass Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition and the Outstanding Work Award at the First Yanjiufang Calligraphy and Painting Competition hosted by the China Couplet Calligraphy and Painting Association. In 2015, her work was selected for exhibition at the 24th Henan Provincial Mass Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, and subsequently won multiple awards in national calligraphy and painting competitions. Her learning journey and artworks have been included in publications such as “Collection of Works by Renowned Chinese Calligraphers and Painters,” “Dahua Wields Brush for Chinese Sentiment,” “Calligraphy and Painting Masters’ Collection Celebrating the Chinese Dream,” and “Chinese Soul.” She has frequently inscribed plaques for businesses; her works have spread widely to Japan, Korea, Canada, Singapore, and other countries, and are treasured by domestic and international cultural organizations, exhibition halls, calligraphy enthusiasts, and literati.
