Personal Profile

Chen Yongqiang, also known as the master of Jingyi Studio, was born in 1970 in Jinzhou City, Hebei Province. He graduated from Tianjin Normal University and is a senior middle school teacher. He has loved painting and calligraphy since childhood. He is a council member of Shijiazhuang Jinzhou Artists Association, a member of Hebei Artists Association, a member of Hebei Chinese Painting Research Association, and a member of the China Folk Fine Painting and Calligraphy Association. He is a specially invited artist at Beijing Jizhuang Peony Painting Academy and Beijing Jinchan Painting and Calligraphy Academy. His main focus is on traditional Chinese landscape painting and freehand peony painting. In landscape painting, he studied under renowned green-blue landscape master Liu Hongliang, vice president of Beijing Taihang Painting and Calligraphy Institute, and was an indoor disciple of well-known colored-ink landscape masters Song Zhongshi and Feng Jiande. In freehand peony painting, he graduated from the advanced training program hosted by Guo Jizhuang, president of Beijing Jizhuang Peony Painting Academy. He has attended numerous domestic and international artist exchange meetings and various short-term training courses. His works have been exhibited in many national and provincial famous art exhibitions and have won awards. In 2019, he participated in the 9th National Folk Fine Painting and Calligraphy Competition, winning the third prize and receiving a certificate of honor. In 2020, he participated in the "Modern Masters · Hua Xia Celebrity Cup" National Painting and Calligraphy Art Competition, winning the third prize and receiving both a certificate of honor and a trophy.
