Dong Jiqiang, male, styled Yihong, also known as Mo Weng, is a member of the China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, a national hard pen calligraphy trainer, a member of the Henan Calligraphers Association, a member of the Henan Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, a member of the Luoyang Calligraphers Association, a director of the Luoyang Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Yiyang County Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, and an invited calligrapher of Luoyang Gengyan Hall Cultural Exchange Co., Ltd. He comes from a scholarly family.
Since childhood, he has studied calligraphy under his father’s guidance, and has extensively practiced scripts including clerical script, Wei stele script, the “Two Wangs,” Ouyang Xun, Yan Zhenqing, Su Shi, Mi Fu, and Wang Duo. In 2015, his calligraphy won an Excellence Award at the 24th Henan Provincial Mass Calligraphy Exhibition; in 2015, his calligraphy was collected by the Xianglu Mountain Revolutionary History Memorial Hall. In 2016, his calligraphy won an Excellence Award at the 25th Henan Provincial Mass Calligraphy Exhibition; in 2016, his hard pen calligraphy won an Excellence Award at the 2nd Luoyang Hard Pen Calligraphy Competition. From 2017 to 2019, he compiled hard pen xingkai and xingshu script copybooks, which caused a strong response within the industry. From 2017 to 2020, he actively promoted public welfare calligraphy activities in schools, spreading calligraphy knowledge to tens of thousands of teachers and students across more than ten schools. In 2019, his calligraphy was collected by the Yiyang Cultural Center; in 2020, his hard pen calligraphy was selected for the Luoyang “Anti-Epidemic” Online Calligraphy Exhibition and the National “Standing Together, Victory over the Epidemic” Large Calligraphy Online Exhibition. His calligraphy has also been exhibited at the Luoyang Federation of Trade Unions Calligraphy Exhibition.
