Personal Profile

Duan Zhimin, styled "Mo Yun Zhai Zhu", is a native of Henan Luoyang. He is currently a member of the China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, a senior calligraphy lecturer, and a senior art instructor. He is also a member of the Henan Calligraphy Association, the Shaanxi Calligraphers Association, the Luoyang Calligraphers Association, the Luoyang Artists Association, and the Luoyang Fine Arts Association. His calligraphy primarily focuses on Tang dynasty regular script, with Han dynasty clerical script as his foundation, while also practicing running and cursive scripts. He is deeply immersed in seal carving, and his works have been exhibited and awarded in numerous national competitions. Joined the Laocheng District Calligraphers Association in 2008. Joined the Luoyang Artists Association in 2014. Joined the Shaanxi Artists Association in 2014. Won the Newcomer Outstanding Work Exhibition award from the Shaanxi Artists Association in 2014. In 2014, his clerical script work "Three Realms of Life" was exhibited in the Henan Provincial Public Calligraphy Exhibition. Founded the "Zhimin Calligraphy and Painting Training Center" in 2015. In 2017, his clerical script work "Zhuge Liang’s Admonition to His Son" was exhibited at the municipal library. Joined the Luoyang Fine Arts Association in 2018. Participated in the training course organized by the Henan Calligraphy Association in 2018. Received the Outstanding Instructor Award at the National Hard Pen Calligraphy Competition in 2018. Received the "Senior Calligraphy Lecturer Certificate" and "Senior Art Instructor Certificate" in 2018. In 2019, three of his works—one clerical script and two running scripts—were featured in a charity calligraphy auction organized by the Song County CPPCC; two pieces were auctioned and one was exhibited in the county CPPCC exhibition hall, with all proceeds donated to impoverished mountainous regions. Participated in the National Day Calligraphy Exhibition hosted by the Song County Federation of Literary and Art Circles in 2019. Won the Outstanding Adult Work Award at the Fifth Luoyang Hard Pen Calligraphy Competition in 2019. Won the Third Prize in the Online Calligraphy and Painting Publicity Campaign organized by the Luoyang Artists Association in spring 2020. Participated in the Third Short-term Calligraphy Training Course organized by the Henan Calligraphy Association in 2020. Won the Outstanding Award at the biennial student exhibition organized by the Henan Calligraphy Association at the end of 2020. In 2020, two of his regular script works were included in the "Special Calligraphy and Painting Issue" sponsored by the Henan Provincial Publicity Department and organized by the Henan Association of Retired Journalists.
