Shen Zirui, courtesy name Motian, art name Rongxuan Pavilion Master, one of the founders of the Populus Euphratica Painting School. Member of Henan Provincial Artists Association, member of Henan Flower-and-Bird Painting Art Committee, Director of Zhengzhou Municipal Artists Association, and Secretary-General of Xingyang Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
      Graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Zhengzhou University in 2007; completed the Chinese Painting Advanced Studies Program at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2009, studying under renowned masters such as Ding Zhongyi, Cao Xinlin, Wu Jian, Zhang Kuanwu, and Li Tiesheng. Thereafter, he continuously studied Populus Euphratica painting under Mr. Zhang Lingchao, a grand master of landscape painting and founder of the Populus Euphratica Painting School, eventually becoming his last disciple. He has many years of experience in art education, with rich expertise in teaching children's art and art preparation for middle school and college entrance examinations.
      Since 2003, he has regularly traveled to the Taihang Mountains for plein air sketching, learning directly from nature and observing its essence. He excels in painting grand mountains and rivers; his works are gentle yet detailed, majestic and imposing. He has participated in numerous national and provincial exhibitions and received awards. “Horseback Journey Home” was selected for the 12th National Art Exhibition; “Nostalgic Small Town” was selected for the “Emotions Tied to Zhuangzhang—Celebrating China-ASEAN Expo Art Exhibition”; “Little Sister Next Door” was shortlisted for the 16th Asian Games National Chinese Painting Exhibition; “Mother” won the Excellence Award at the 5th Henan Provincial Chinese Figure Painting Exhibition; “Shrimp” and “Heavenly Mechanism” received Excellence Awards at the Henan New Artists and New Works Exhibition. “Soul-Stirring Melody” was included in the “Collection of Young Chinese Artists”; “Autumn Sound of Great Mountains” was included in the “Collection of Contemporary Chinese Artists’ Works”. He participated in compiling the series “How to Paint Populus Euphratica” and served as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the book “Salute to Populus Euphratica”.
