Pan Jikun, pen name Pan Xiaonu, freelance illustrator and figure prototype designer, member of the Folk Artists Association of Henan Province,
Disciple of Master Xiao Zhanxing, known as “Dough Figure Xiao,” a national-level master of Chinese arts and crafts; fifth-generation inheritor of Xiangcheng City’s intangible cultural heritage “Pan-style Colored Sculpture.” His artworks have participated in numerous provincial and municipal exhibitions and are increasingly collected by art enthusiasts.
Born in 1990 in Xiangcheng City, Henan Province, he has loved art and handicrafts since childhood. He graduated in 2013 from Luoyang Normal University with a major in Chinese Painting, studying under Mr. Zhou Qingbo, Mr. Gou Bin, Mr. Wang Yaping, and Mr. Jin Wankui (Korean visiting professor), systematically learning landscape, flower-and-bird, and figure painting. After graduation, he remained at the university as a part-time instructor.

In May 2015, his colored sculpture work “Swallowing the Eight Wildernesses” won the Outstanding Award (highest prize) at the 20th New Artists and New Works Exhibition of Henan Province (awarded by the Henan Artists Association).
In 2016, he was interviewed and featured by Luoyang Daily under the headline “This Luoyang Young Man Is Extraordinary—Turning Mud into Art.”
In 2018, his works were included in “Yiku 300: China’s Creative Design Forces” (CITIC Press).
In 2018, he participated in the Henan Provincial Government’s Public Cultural Service Purchase Project “Training for Yu-Dong Clay Sculpture Techniques and Innovative Design Talents.”
During this period, he studied and exchanged techniques with Master Xu Shuzhang, a national-level inheritor of intangible cultural heritage from Huaiyang County, specializing in “Nini Dogs,” and with Master Song Kaizhan, known as “Humble Knife,” representative inheritor of Jun County’s “Ni Gugu” clay whistles and national master of arts and crafts. After completing the program, eight of his colored sculptures were permanently collected by the “Master Studio” of the Art Department at Zhoukou Normal University.
In August 2020, his colored sculpture work “Journey to the West: Jindou Mountain” won the Outstanding Award at the 25th New Artists and New Works Exhibition of Henan Province (awarded by the Henan Artists Association).
In June 2020, he joined the creative team for the “Luoyang City, Pearl of the Yellow River” comic series and published three comic books (Henan Fine Arts Publishing House).
