Su Xianghong
Personal Profile
Su Xianghong, from Puyang, Henan — the ancient capital of Chinese dragons. Since childhood, she has loved painting; as a child, she enjoyed doodling in little notebooks, full of innocence and childlike charm. As years passed and seasons changed, she was submerged in the vast ocean of daily trivialities. Yet, her affection for painting never ceased, constantly resurfacing in her mind. Recently, she resumed her artistic pursuits, spreading paper and wielding brush, directly drawing inspiration from Ren Bonian, Wu Changshuo, and Bada Shanren. Building upon systematic study of freehand-style bird-and-flower painting, she further specialized in semi-freehand bird-and-flower painting, gradually stepping into the artistic hall of painting and beginning to show promise. She has successively participated in municipal and provincial exhibitions, achieving commendable results. Currently, she is a member of the Henan Bird-and-Flower Painting Research Association and the Henan Jiuyi Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Ms. Su draws creative inspiration from nature’s dazzling, colorful world — freely expressing herself with brushstrokes that shimmer and drift like clouds across the sky. The birds and flowers she paints are imbued with vivid artistic life and abundant spirit. Tirelessly devoted to her brush, Ms. Su integrates calligraphy and painting with the truth, goodness, and beauty of nature, expressing them within the confines of small sheets, developing her own distinctive artistic style. Her painting style is clear, simple, unrestrained, and graceful. Every stroke reflects her unique understanding of Chinese painting — truly rare and precious. With diligence as her path, borrowing wisdom from others to hone her skills, she fulfills her artistic calling and achieves excellence, blossoming like a phoenix among the myriad flowers of the painting world!
