Jie Daokuan, male, native of Henan Shangqiu, born in 1955, with secondary vocational education, retired.

Academician of Shangqiu Yunhe Calligraphy and Painting Academy
Member of China Senior Calligraphers and Painters Association
Hunan Province Sanxiang Descendants Calligraphy and Art Research InstituteInvited Researcher, etc.

Passionate about calligraphy, has persisted in practice for many years, excelling in running-cursive script, with a bold and vigorous style described as: “brushstrokes summon wind and clouds, paper bears witness to hardship; writes rivers and lakes to exhaustion, capable of startling dragons and tigers.” His brush moves freely, characters flow smoothly, and he completes entire compositions with ease. Introduced in 2020, he joined Yunhe Calligraphy and Painting Academy, significantly enhancing his research, study, and artistic mastery of calligraphy. His works have repeatedly won awards in local and national calligraphy and painting competitions.

2020 Awarded Gold Prize in the National Calligraphy and Art Competition Solemnly Commemorating the 127th Anniversary of Chairman Mao Zedong’s Birth, for his cursive script rendition of Mao Zedong’s poem “Heavy Rain Falls on Youyan,” with a high-quality certificate of honor issued.
