Deng Fuquan (Quan), styled Ye Yuan, also known as Master of Zhenyuetang, was born in 1959 in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts Education at the Art College of Harbin Normal University. Since childhood, he has been passionate about painting and calligraphy, studying under the renowned Gongbi figure painter Mr. Ren Shuaiying, from whom he received profound instruction and became a formal disciple; he also received guidance from Mr. Huang Jun. At the same time, he further studied under masters of various dynasties, diligently refining traditional line drawing and meticulous techniques with unwavering dedication. He specializes in Gongbi figure and flower-bird painting. He is currently a member of the Heilongjiang Artists Association and a member of the Heilongjiang Calligraphers Association, as well as a specially appointed part-time instructor at the Art College of Harbin Normal University. His major works include: In 1979, his work was selected for the Heilongjiang Calligraphy and Seal Carving Exhibition. In 1980, his calligraphy piece was presented by the All-China Federation of Trade Unions as a gift to the Japanese Trade Union. In 1981, his work was selected for the Heilongjiang Youth Calligraphy and Seal Carving Exhibition. In 1986, his work participated in the International Dream of the Red Chamber Art Festival Expo and was collected. In 1986, his work was selected for the Harbin Fine Arts Six Associations Exhibition. In 1987, his work was selected for the China-Japan Friendship Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition. In 1991, his work was selected for the Third Heilongjiang Youth Fine Arts Exhibition and received an Honorable Mention Award. In 1992, his work was selected for the Second Heilongjiang Flower-and-Bird Painting Exhibition. In 1993, his work was specially invited to participate in the China-Korea Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition, received a Certificate of Appreciation, and was included in the exhibition catalog. In 1994, his work was specially invited to participate in the Heilongjiang Teachers’ Fine Arts and Calligraphy Exhibition. In 1995, his work was specially invited to participate in the Malaysia (Heilongjiang Fine Arts and Calligraphy Masterpieces Exhibition). His works have been published multiple times in publications such as Xin Wan Bao, Harbin Daily, Heilongjiang Education, and Teaching and Nurturing.
