  Liu Binsheng was born in Heilongjiang Province and currently resides in Harbin. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Harbin Educational College in 1988 and completed a research course at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2001.He is a member of the China Oil Painters Association, a First-Class Artist, a council member of the Literature, Art and Media Committee of the Heilongjiang Association of Returned Overseas Students, a researcher at the Institute of Intercultural Studies at Heilongjiang University, a visiting professor at Northeast Agricultural University, a professional painter at the China-Russia Artists Creation Base, a member of the Heilongjiang Branch of the China Artists Association, and a council member of the Harbin Artists Association. He is acclaimed as "the painter of snow." He studied under Professor Yan Tiezheng of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, renowned artists Zang Erkang and Liu Shuqi. His major works have been published in publications such as the U.S. International Daily, Guangming Daily, Wen Hui Bao, Art Review, China Oil Painting, Heilongjiang Pictorial, Heilongjiang Charm, Harbin Daily, and Xin Wanbao.
        Since 2012, he has been teaching at the Guangsha College of Harbin University of Commerce. Based on the actual conditions of his students, he transformed architectural sketching into an on-site painting course. Through architectural sketching and artwork appreciation classes, he enables students to more widely inherit the local customs and traditional architecture of Harbin through their own brushes..
