Wang Bingyu (Mingyu), Elder Brother of Ink from the Northern Land.Born in 1949 in Zhaoyuan, Heilongjiang, with a university degree, graduated from the China Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University, retired from government service, and resides in Dalian. Influenced since childhood by his parents, he has diligently practiced and meticulously studied calligraphy, initially learning from Liu and Zhao, and tracing the styles of the Two Wangs. He excels in large-character inscriptions and running-cursive script.He is proficient in small regular script and frequently studies calligraphy together with his younger brother, the renowned Chinese calligraphy master Professor Wang Mingyuan. In his early years, he became a disciple of Master Wang Xiaju.His works have been repeatedly included in the "Collection of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphers and Painters." In 2012, the state published "Legendary Figures of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting" and the personal monograph "Master Wang Mingyu of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting."In 2014, he won the Gold Award in the National Calligraphy and Painting Competition hosted by the China Academy of Calligraphy and Painting and was honored with the title "One of the Hundred Masters of Chinese Calligraphy."In 2018, he won first place nationwide in the China Online Calligraphy and Art Expo Competition and received the Special Grand Prize.Numerous works have been collected by high-ranking officials and business leaders both domestically and internationally, as well as by numerous collectors of Chinese calligraphy and painting worldwide.Currently, he serves as Vice Chairman of the Liaoning Branch of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, Vice Chairman of the Dalian Calligraphy and Painting Committee of the China Huaxia Culture Promotion Association, Senior Researcher in Creative Arts at the Beijing International Cultural and Art Center, Guest Professor of Calligraphy at Beijing Technology and Business University, Honorary President of the Dalian Branch of the China Qi Baishi Art Institute, and Honorary Chairman of the Beijing Confucius Cultural Art Exchange Center. He is also a Senior Instructor of the China Calligraphers Association, a designated calligrapher for state gifts by the State Council, Vice Director of the China (Tianjin) Oriental Art Museum, and Director of the Dalian Branch of the China Oriental Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
