Personal Profile

Zheng Yanchun, female, was born on June 17, 1958, in the beautiful ice city of Harbin, and currently resides in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province. Since childhood, she has been fond of painting and calligraphy. In her middle age, she learned ink techniques via video lessons from painters Xu Zhan and Huo Chunyang. Later, she studied under full-time painters Sun Dengcheng and Qu Jianwei, mastering the brushwork and ink application of traditional Chinese ink-wash landscape and ink-wash flower-and-bird painting. In recent years, she has learned the techniques of ice-and-snow landscape painting through video lessons with painter Zhao Chunqiu. In 2018, she became a disciple of national gift painter Yang Xiaona, specializing in Yang-style peony techniques. Over the years, she has diligently studied painting and calligraphy, drawing on the strengths of many masters and never ceasing her artistic practice. Her main focus is on ink-wash peonies and ice-and-snow landscapes. Her peony works exhibit elegant charm, noble splendor, rich and vigorous brushwork, and free-flowing, ethereal style, forming an artistic style that appeals to both refined and popular tastes. She frequently participates in social public welfare activities and visits military camps to promote traditional Chinese culture. Her works have been exhibited multiple times and collected by military personnel and renowned individuals across the country. In 2018, she passed the National Social Art Level Examination (Painting Grade 10). In 2017, her ink-wash peony painting "Flowers Bloom, Wealth and Honor" won the Gold Prize at the Harbin Xiangfang District Exhibition Celebrating the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and Realizing the Chinese Dream. She is currently a painter at the Xiangfang District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Art Research Institute, a painter and council member of the Acheng District Art Institute of Harbin, a full-time painter at the Heilongjiang Provincial Ethnic Painting and Calligraphy Academy, a painter and council member of the Heilongjiang Branch of the China Famous Artists Art Academy, an academician of the Harbin International Art College Art Research Institute, and an academician of the China Contemporary Master Artists Research Institute.
