Zhang Xuguang is a Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Secretary-General of the China Artists Association, Vice Chairman of the Cursive Script Committee, and Director of the Hard-Pen Calligraphy Committee of the China Calligraphers Association. He is proficient in multiple script styles and possesses a creative spirit: his regular script pursues dynamic forms, endowing them with life; his clerical script fuses the styles of Zhang Qian, Jin Nong, Xiao Cuan, and Yi Bingshou into a unified whole, blending simplicity with subtlety, exuding a solemn and fluid elegance unique to his own style. His running and cursive scripts follow the traditions of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, absorbing the spaciousness of Yan Zhenqing and the elegant charm of Su Shi and Mi Fu, resulting in a refined, tranquil, and naturally vigorous style uniquely his own.
