Xia Jinli, Master of Jingxin Tang, was born in Qing County, Cangzhou, Hebei. From a young age, he received family instruction and developed a deep passion for traditional Chinese painting. He was inspired by Mr. Sun Yunqing, a renowned painter from the former Republic of China era associated with the Tianjin Daily News, who introduced him to the techniques of flower-and-bird and figure painting. Later, he was admitted to Bozhen Art School and graduated in 1990 with outstanding academic results. He further refined his flower-and-bird techniques under the guidance of Master Zhao Yonglin, a celebrated peony painter from Dandong. In recent years, he has received meticulous instruction from the renowned flower-and-bird painter Master Liu Jubo, studying under him specifically in the art of peony painting. His semi-ink-wash peony works have become increasingly proficient, characterized by elegant brushwork and a distinctive style, earning widespread recognition and praise from fellow artists and collectors alike. He has participated multiple times in provincial and municipal painting and calligraphy exhibitions and has received numerous awards.
