Shi Hongqi, from Dacheng, Hebei, a member of the Communist Party of China, born in 1952, has been passionate about calligraphy since childhood. In the 1970s, he entered the education sector as a high school teacher and party secretary. In the 1980s, he transitioned from department head to principal during the period of restoring the college entrance examination, when learning among middle-aged and young people was thriving. He served as the instructor for both hard-pen and soft-pen calligraphy training for teachers, and his running-kai calligraphy works received multiple awards at provincial, municipal, and county levels.He is currently a member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, a national calligrapher, an academician of the China Calligraphy Academy, a member of the China Senior Calligraphy and Painting Research Society, a member of the Baoding City Calligraphers Association, a member of the Zhulin Calligraphy and Painting Society, an advisor to the Calligraphy and Painting Research Society of China National Grain Corporation Senior University, a teacher in the Running-Kai class, vice president of the Baoding Shenzhou Calligraphy and Painting Institute, a calligraphy teacher at the Qingyuan Jing'ai Temple Calligraphy and Painting Institute of Yuhua Calligraphy and Painting Institute, a calligraphy teacher at Jinxiu Community, a council member of the Xiong'an Art Center, and an advisor for lectures on traditional Chinese culture entering classrooms at Baoding Affiliated School. He is also the director of the Baoding Branch of the Junbin Calligraphy and Painting Institute.
