Personal Profile
        Liu Wei is currently a member of the Art Market Management Committee of the China Cultural Management Association and a specially appointed traditional Chinese painter at the Traditional Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Creation Research Center of the China Folk Artists Association. He is also a senior calligraphy and painting researcher specially appointed by the Henan Shiwan Culture and Art Center and was selected as a "Contemporary Chinese National Gift Artist" by the "China Huaxia Ten Thousand Li Xing Calligraphers and Painters Association" (registered with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology). His works have been featured on the “Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Network” in Sydney, Australia, and he has become a specially invited artist there. In 1990, he studied under the renowned traditional Chinese painter Mr. Xu Hongbin, known as “China’s Number One Insect Painter” and “Gourd Cricket Xu,” specializing in flower, bird, and insect painting. Several of Mr. Xu’s works, including “Hundred Butterflies” and “Azalea with Flying Butterflies,” are collected by the Great Hall of the People. Liu Wei inherited Mr. Xu’s artistic style and adhered to his mentor’s teaching that “one must first become a good person before becoming a good painter,” persisting diligently through both adversity and prosperity. Later, he studied under the famous painter, art theorist, and educator Mr. Zhang Shoutao, and has continued painting tirelessly for many years. His works have frequently participated in national exhibitions, especially those within the financial sector, and have won numerous awards. In 2017, he co-hosted an exhibition at the Beijing Huguang Guild Hall with six others, including Mr. Luo Yang, Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles. His works were exhibited at the “New · Spring” — 2018 Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters New Media Digital Art Exhibition held at the “Zhengyang Art Museum” on Qianmen Street in Beijing. He was honored with the title of “2018 National Annual Proud Figure in Art,” jointly awarded by Artron, Sohu, and Phoenix, and received the title of “The Third National Most Influential Calligrapher and Painter,” co-sponsored by Shiwan Art, Sohu, Tencent, and over twenty other online media outlets. His works have been selected by the “Chuan Shi Calligraphy and Painting Art Network,” making him a specially invited contracted painter and earning him the honorary title of “Chuan Shi Artist.” His artworks possess high artistic appreciation value, significant market appreciation potential, and collection value, receiving widespread acclaim, affection, and collection from the calligraphy and painting community and the general public.
