Liu Changjun, also known by his courtesy name Changjun (Studio names: Moyuan Studio, Jingushu Studio), Hui ethnicity, native of Anhui YingShang. Former Political Commissar of the People's Armed Forces Department and Member of the County Party Committee Standing Committee of Gao Yi County, Hebei Province. Since childhood, he has been accompanied by brush and ink, regarding calligraphy as his greatest life interest, never tiring of its pursuit. He specializes in clerical script, beginning with the Zhang Qian Stele and practicing extensively across various steles with diligence up to the present. He also studies other scripts, keeping Sun Guoting’s “Shu Pu” as a constant companion on his desk, frequently reading, copying, and contemplating it, steadily improving over time. Currently, he is a member of the Hebei Calligraphers Association, Executive Director and Deputy Secretary-General of the Hebei Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Association, member of the Shijiazhuang Calligraphers Association, and Vice President and Secretary-General of the Yongchang Calligraphy and Painting Academy. His works have been exhibited and awarded multiple times both within and outside the military. His theoretical articles on calligraphy, “Appreciation and Interpretation of Calligraphic Art” and “Why Calligraphy Works Are Arranged ‘Top to Bottom, Right to Left’,” have been published in China Calligraphy News; “On the Aesthetic Charm of Qi-Yun in Calligraphic Art” and “On the Aesthetic Charm of Ink-Rhythm in Calligraphic Art” have been published in Xizhi Calligraphy and Painting News.
