Personal Profile
Zhang Congyu, style name Bijun. Pen name Zhang Chen, Dharma name Changcong Jushi. A native of Shijiazhuang, Hebei. From childhood, he inherited family traditions and developed a deep passion for painting. In 1984, he studied at Zhengding Julu Art School under renowned masters Tian Xinfu, Zhu Jiefu, Wang Ying, and others. Later, he entered the Hebei Academy of Painting studying under Professor Zhao Chengxin, and also received guidance from Mr. Liang Zhanyan and others.Currently, he serves as a Creative Committee Member at the Research Center of Chinese Arts Academy, Deputy Director of Cultural Committee of China Economic and Cultural Federation. He is specially appointed Vice President of China National Academy of Painting, artist at China Shiqi Painting Academy, Deputy Secretary-General of Hebei Cultural Figures Public Welfare Alliance, Executive Council Member of Hebei Painting and Calligraphy Art Research Association, President of Hebei Youth Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Vice President of Hebei Landscape Painting Academy, Distinguished Artist at Hebei Painting and Calligraphy Academy, President of Xinji Hanfu Painting and Calligraphy Academy, President of Hebei Zhang Congyu Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and National First-Class Painter.
In 2012, he furthered his studies at the Beijing Academy of Painting in the New Chinese Painting Class taught by the famous painter Shi Qi.
From 2012 to 2018, he successively held solo exhibitions and joint exhibitions in Hebei, Jiangsu, Beijing, and other places.
In 2014, he organized and founded the "Xinji Hanfu Painting and Calligraphy Academy" to promote artistic exchange and train students in painting and calligraphy.
In March 2015, he relocated the "Hanfu Painting and Calligraphy Academy" to Shijiazhuang, the provincial capital. In June of the same year, he was appointed Vice President of Hebei Landscape Painting Academy. In October, he was elected Deputy Secretary-General of Hebei Cultural Figures Public Welfare Alliance.
In October 2017, he organized and established the Jiangsu Yangzhong City Hebei Zhang Congyu Painting and Calligraphy Academy.
