Personal Profile

Huo Yuanfang, female, originally named Huo Man, was born in 1966 in Shen County, Hebei, currently resides in Beijing. She practiced martial arts from childhood and is now a member of the China Calligraphers Association and the Hebei Writers Association. She graduated from Nanjing University of the Arts in 1995, studied under Mr. Xu Wuwen in her early years. Her calligraphy has won the Excellence Award at the 2nd Lanting Award, the Nomination Award at the 1st National Running Script Exhibition, and the Third Prize at the 6th National Calligraphy Exhibition for Young and Middle-aged Artists. Her essay "Deep in the Peach Blossoms" won the Hebei Literature Award, and her essay "Old Soil" received the Government Literature Award. She has published the poetry and painting collection "Poetry and Distance" and the essay collection "Bitter Brine".
