Liu Mengbao, currently known as Liu Mengbao (courtesy name Bao), pseudonym: Yishui, Huibao Jushi, studio names: Rongzhai, Yude Xuan. Born in 1976 in Hebei Cizhou, currently resides in Beijing. National First-Class Artist, Council Member of the Chinese Artists Federation, Vice President of the China Ancient and Modern Art Research Institute, Council Member of the China Mural Art Research Institute, Art Consultant of the China Wall Painting Association,Member of the China Artists Association,Member of the Hebei Branch of the China Artists Association. In 2014, commemorating the 50th anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations, Mr. Liu Mengbao’s landscape painting “Sea of Clouds over Huangshan” was exhibited at the Louvre National Museum in France—the foremost among the world’s four major museums—and permanently collected there. Studied under renowned painters Zhang Ding and Jia Xiangguo, assimilating strengths from various schools, integrating and innovating to form his own distinctive style. In his early years, engaged in mural restoration work, having participated in mural painting and restoration projects at sites including the Mogao Caves in Gansu Dunhuang, Shaolin Temple, and the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda in Xi’an. Member of the Hebei Branch of the China Artists Association, professional painter. With over thirty years of experience in calligraphy and painting, specializes in coke-ink landscapes, blue-green landscapes, classical-style landscapes, and works imbued with modern aesthetic characteristics.
