Chen Geng, styled Tian Gan, also known as Zhangyuan Mountain Hermit. Born in 1974 in Tai’an, native of Zhangjiakou. He is a member of the China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, Director of the China Calligraphy Online Alliance, member of the China Fine Arts Masters Association, and member of the Zhangyan Calligraphy and Painting Enthusiasts Association.Since childhood, he has been intelligent and diligent in study, with a deep passion for calligraphy, painting, and seal carving. Through persistent practice and unremitting dedication, he has cultivated profound mastery in calligraphy. His calligraphic works hold a unique artistic status across all social strata. His calligraphy draws from ancient traditions while maintaining both fidelity to classical forms and contemporary innovation; his characters are soft yet firm, rich in variation and expressive in form, with bold and fluent brushwork.He was awarded the Gold Prize in the 2018 “Hundred Flowers Greet Spring” National Calligraphy and Painting Competition and an Excellence Award in the 7th Contemporary Ink - China Calligraphy and Painting Competition. He has participated in numerous institutional and national calligraphy competitions and received multiple awards.
