Personal Profile
Ren Yonghong, also known as Yonghong, is from Shen County, Hebei Province. He is a member of the Chinese Inside-Painting Arts and Crafts Association and a Hebei Provincial Folk Inside-Painting Arts and Crafts Master.
Born in 1977 in Shenzhou City, Hebei Province, Ren Yonghong has loved painting since childhood. After graduating from middle school (in 1996), he began studying inside-painting under his elder brother Ren Yongjun (founder of Zhenhu Studio). Since then, Ren Yonghong has practiced inside-painting passionately every day. Due to his diligence, eagerness to learn, and deep love for art, he quickly mastered the intricate techniques of inside-painting.
In 1999, after three years of dedication to inside-painting art, Ren Yonghong, with help from his elder brother, started an inside-painting training class in his hometown to promote the art form and help provide employment opportunities for rural youth. In 2002, Ren Yonghong led his students to Hengshui, expanding the training program while continuously seeking mentors to further refine his skills.
In 2003, introduced by his elder brother Ren Yongjun, he had the good fortune to meet inside-painting master Dong Xue. Deeply inspired by Master Dong’s superb craftsmanship, Ren Yonghong became his formal apprentice to further elevate his artistry. That same year, he was honored as a Hebei Provincial Folk Arts and Crafts Artist.
In 2004, together with his three elder brothers, he co-founded Zhenhu Studio Inside-Painting Arts and Crafts Company, which gradually brought together nearly two hundred artists to collaborate on entrepreneurial ventures. By this time, Ren Yonghong’s artworks had matured significantly, developing a distinctive personal style. His works have been exhibited at numerous domestic and international art exhibitions and collected by many art collectors. His representative pieces, "Fu Chun Mountain Dwelling" and "Spring Mountain Companion," have received wide acclaim within the art community. His work "Mickey's Magic Hat" was displayed at the British Gallery.
In 2011, he was awarded the title of Hebei Provincial Folk Arts and Crafts Master.
In 2015, at the invitation of National Master Wang Jin, he traveled to Inner Mongolia to assist in establishing the Meng School of inside-painting, becoming one of its founding figures and serving long-term as honorary advisor of the Meng School.
?Beginning in 2017, he devoted himself to researching the integration of natural crystal and agate snuff bottles with inside-painting art, skillfully combining inner paintings with various types of hair crystal, inclusion crystal, and color-graded agate as mediums, creating breathtaking images that reflect a harmonious unity between nature and human artistry—opening a new chapter in the development of inside-painting art.
