 Li Zhanying: Art name Lingyun. Studio name Runwuxuan. Born in 1977 in Hengshui City, Hebei Province. Has broad interests and has loved calligraphy and painting since childhood, especially excelling in animals, landscapes, calligraphy, and seal carving, complemented by music, chess, flute, and xiao for spiritual cultivation. Director of the China Inner Painting Research Institute, member of the Hebei Inner Painting Snuff Bottle Association, member of the Hebei Inner Painting Collectors Association, and member of the Hengshui Inner Painting Artists Association. Disciple of Chinese National Master of Arts and Crafts Mr. Fu Guoshun, and grand-disciple of Wang Xisan, the doyen of the Ji School of inner painting, making him the third-generation inheritor of the Ji School. In addition to painting and calligraphy, he has also broken from tradition in the crafting of inner painting brushes, with exquisite workmanship and refined, beautiful materials—particularly in the design of large round-bottle writing brushes, ingeniously conceived to fill the gap left by ordinary inner painting brushes incapable of writing. Regarding writing on the inner walls of large crystal spheres, he has also transformed the previous limitations of conventional writing methods by employing an extremely difficult inverted brush technique, developing innovative new skills.
