Shangguan Miliang, born in 1963 in Luquan, Hebei, original name Mi Fengming, also known as Miliang, with alternative pseudonyms Shibaizhai Master, Shangguan Xingzuo, and Zehong. Graduated from the Department of Arts and Crafts at Hebei Normal University. Specializes in figure painting, landscape painting, and calligraphy. Currently employed at the People’s Auditorium of Shijiazhuang Municipal Federation of Trade Unions. Currently serves as Vice President of the Chinese Confucian Businesspeople Calligraphy and Painting Association, Executive Director of the Shijiazhuang Branch of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, Member of the Hebei Provincial Artists Association, Director of the Hebei Youth Calligraphers and Painters Association, Secretary-General of Hebei Moyu Calligraphy and Painting Society, Member of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Artists Association, and President of Menghua Pavilion Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Miliang has been passionately fond of painting since childhood. At age 14, he studied Western-style sketching and color techniques under his art teacher Mr. Zhang Shuyi, establishing a solid foundation in modeling. Simultaneously, he apprenticed under renowned painter Hu Weilian, senior stage design professor and disciple of Xu Beihong, and celebrated folk painter Zhang Shufang. His painting style is realistic, with powerful brushwork, forming an artistic style characterized by openness, strength, simplicity, and elegance. Numerous artworks have been published in provincial or national newspapers and magazines. He has designed exhibition boards and large-scale promotional paintings for institutions such as the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, and the Provincial Gymnasium. He has participated in numerous national, provincial, and municipal calligraphy and painting competitions and received awards. His works are collected by domestic galleries and international collectors from South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and other countries.
