He Shiping, style name Yuwei, born in March 1965, is from Hengling Village, Xiaoju Town, Pingshan County, Hebei Province. He is Vice President of the China Famous Artists Academy, Art Director of China Art Encyclopedia, member of the China Art Masters Association, council member of the United Nations International Federation of Cultural Artists, and judge of the International Yinglun Award.
He graduated in 1991 from the Chinese Painting Department of Tianjin Art College, studying under renowned masters Zhao Shusong (a disciple of Li Keran) and Hou Chunlin. He has won gold medals in numerous domestic and international painting and calligraphy competitions.
In 2001, he received an excellence award in a painting and calligraphy competition commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution. In 2008, he won a gold medal in the "Complete Collection of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy" submission campaign, was awarded the honorary title of "China's Top 100 Outstanding Painters and Calligraphers," and his biography was included in the "Compendium of Chinese Painters and Calligraphers."
He won a gold medal in the national painting and calligraphy invitation contest commemorating the 60th anniversary of Mao Zedong's founding ceremony and was conferred the honorary title of "Red Artist."
In 2010, he participated in the Masters of Painting and Calligraphy Shanghai World Expo International Exchange Exhibition and the grand recruitment for the bilingual Chinese-English dictionary "Dictionary of Chinese Masters of Painting and Calligraphy," winning a gold medal; his works and biography were selected for inclusion in this publication;
the same year, he was awarded a gold prize at the Cross-Straits Exchange Exhibition of Painting and Calligraphy Artists and was included in "Sunset Glow: Treasured Collection of Famous Works by Artists from Both Sides of the Strait."
In 2012, he was named "Top Artistic Heritage Figure of 2012." In 2013, he received the International Yinglun Award and was hailed as the "First Royal Artist," with his personal biography included in Volume One of the "New Edition of Who's Who in the World."
In 2014, he won a gold medal in a painting and calligraphy competition commemorating the 110th anniversary of Deng Xiaoping’s birth. His works and biography were included in "Glorious Banner, Immortal Monument: Treasured Collection of Global Chinese Masters of Painting and Calligraphy," and his work profile was included in "100 Artists in Chinese Art Most Valuable for Collection and Investment."
In 2015, he was included in "Sixteen Most Powerful Artists in National Art Investment" and was appointed Vice President of the China Famous Artists Academy. In 2016, he was included in "Collection of Fine Artworks by Chinese Masters" (inscribed by Zhongshi).
