Personal Profile
Zhang Chaoyi: Born in 1952 in a scholarly family in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Influenced by the living environment, he has been passionately fond of Chinese painting since childhood, practicing it continuously regardless of the weather. His works are fresh and beautiful, with a sparse and elegant composition, and his brushwork is both meticulous and freehand, giving people a sense of simplicity and tranquility. Due to his fascination with mountain scenery, he often camped out in the wild, subsisting on wild fruits and drinking from mountain streams, which became part of his daily routine. Using heavy ink and color as the foundation, he incorporates techniques such as splashing ink and color, and accumulating brushstrokes, thus adding a sense of water, ink, and color blending to his works amidst their thickness. This artistic charm reflects the rhythm of life and the harmony of mountains and waters, embodying his personal emotional state through the materialization of landscapes. His paintings have participated in national touring art exhibitions and been collected. His works are highly praised and widely sold in Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and other places. Some of his works have been collected by famous figures, collectors, and entrepreneurs at home and abroad. He is currently the院长of Zetenzhai Art Academy and a contracted painter for Shanghai Saint-Gobain Art Products Co., Ltd. He also serves as a guohua (Chinese painting) technical consultant for Hebei Yixing Trading Co., Ltd. and an honorary councilor for Tangshan Yiqoo Art Products Co., Ltd.
