Chen Jincheng
Personal Profile
Chen Jincheng, male, born in July 1972 in Wuyi County, Hengshui City, Hebei Province, signs his works under the name “Yizhentang Zhuren.” He graduated from Hebei Light Industry School in July 1992 and later pursued further studies at Tianjin Institute of Light Industry, earning a college diploma. In 2009, he joined the Hengshui Calligraphers Association and studied cursive script under Mr. Du Changrong, president of the Academy of Painting and Calligraphy. He later received guidance from renowned masters such as Yin Haijin, Wang Fujun, Li Chunxi, Sun Zhiyong, and Zhang Qingzhou. Taking Huaisu’s “Zixu Tie” as his foundation, he also explored masterpieces including Zhang Xu’s “Four Ancient Poems,” Sun Guoting’s “Shupu,” Huang Tingjian’s “Lian Po and Lin Xiangru Biography,” Wang Duo’s “Du Fu Poetry Scroll,” Zhang Ruitu’s “Later Ode to the Red Cliffs,” and Zhu Zhishan’s “Peach Blossom Spring Album,” meticulously copying them and absorbing their essence to gradually develop his own elegant, fluid, and profoundly expressive calligraphic style. Currently, he serves as Vice President of the China Association of Famous Calligraphers and Painters, member of the Hebei Hard-pen Calligraphy Association, member of the Hebei Collectors Association, member of the Hengshui Calligraphers Association, and member of the China Democratic League.
His works have been exhibited multiple times domestically:
2016: Selected for the calligraphy exhibition “Taocheng Sentiment, Strong District Dream,” hosted by the Taicheng District Committee of the CPPCC, Hengshui City.
2017: Awarded First Prize in the Provincial Calligraphy Teachers Exhibition hosted by the Hebei Hard-pen Calligraphy Association, and honored with the title “Most Beautiful Calligraphy Teacher in Hebei Province”;
Selected for calligraphy exhibitions separately hosted by the Hengshui China Democratic League and Jing County CPPCC.
2018: Received an Excellence Award in the “Dongzi Cup National Calligraphy Exhibition,” jointly hosted by the Hengshui Municipal Committee of the CPPCC and the Hengshui Calligraphers Association;
Selected for the “Large-scale Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Commemorating 40 Years of Reform and Opening-up,” jointly hosted by the Propaganda Department of Hengshui Municipal Committee and the Hengshui Calligraphers Association;
Won an Excellence Award at the Guangdong “Guanyinshan Cup” National Calligraphy Exhibition, with the work collected by the organizers;
2019: Received an Excellence Award at the “Chunwang Cup National Public Welfare Calligraphy and Painting Competition” in Shenzhen, Guangdong.
