Wang Hongjuan, born in 1982, is a native of Xiangyang, Hubei, a National First-Class Artist, and a member of the Hubei Artists Association. She graduated from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts and currently teaches at the Department of Fine Arts, Guangxi Normal University.
She studied under the renowned bird-and-flower painter Jiang Zhongchao, specializing in meticulous-style bird-and-flower painting, small freehand-style bird-and-flower painting, and ink-splashed landscape painting. Using rural imagery from her hometown as a medium, she integrates her reflections on rural sentiment, aesthetic concepts, and materiality into her works.
Her use of blue-green heavy pigments blends harmoniously with ink washes, extending beyond the canvas into infinite space, expressing the grandeur of rivers and mountains and the beauty of birdsong and flowers. She has participated in numerous art exhibitions and received awards; her works are collected by collectors both domestically and overseas.
In 2012, she held the Wang Hongjuan Bird-and-Flower Painting Exhibition in Los Angeles, USA.
In 2013, she held the Yangpu Harvest – Hongjuan Solo Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in Sydney, Australia.
In 2015, she published the Wang Hongjuan Bird-and-Flower Painting Collection.
In 2017, she published the Magnificent Rivers and Mountains – Wang Hongjuan Ink-Splashed Landscape Collection.
In 2019, she participated in the 13th National Art Exhibition and won an Excellence Award.
