Li Jinzhan, born in March 1965 in Yutian County, Hebei Province, is a National First-Class Calligrapher.
He is currently a member of the China Calligraphers Association, Hebei Calligraphers and Painters Association, Tangshan Calligraphers and Painters Association, Honorary Vice President of the Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute of the China Artists Association, Vice President of the China Hanmo Calligraphy and Painting Art Academy, and Director of the China Calligraphers Association.
With over forty years of dedicated practice in brush and ink, Li Jinzhan has mastered regular script, cursive script, clerical script, and seal script, integrating them into a unique style imbued with Zen-inspired spiritual cultivation, reflecting an attitude of personal striving and the noble moral strength of integrity and purity.
His works were awarded the Gold Prize at the 2015 National Large-Scale Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the War of Resistance Against Japan — and the 7th Cross-Strait Art Exchange Exhibition; they have been included in the “Seventy-Year Chronicle of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting,” and he has been honored with the title of “Renowned Chinese Calligrapher and Painter.” At the 2015 “Remembering History, Cherishing Peace” National Calligraphy and Painting Masters Exhibition Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japan — and the World Anti-Fascist War, he won the Gold Prize and was specially conferred the honorary title of “Top 100 Patriotic Calligraphy Artists.” Many of his works have been collected by the state.
