Li Qingzhou, born in June 1950, from Xingtai, Hebei, is the founder of the Huawen Art Society, guest professor at Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts and Central Academy of Fine Arts, vice president of the Yi Studies Research Association, a renowned contemporary artist, and specially invited researcher at the Chinese National Academy of Arts. The Huawen Art Society founded by Professor Li Qingzhou enjoys top-level national academic influence as well as international recognition. Its members are spread across the country, including researchers from the National Academy of Painting, art department professors, directors from China Central Television, nationally renowned painters, and university faculty members. The society has won numerous gold and silver awards at national and international art exhibitions. For many years, Professor Li Qingzhou has been devoted to the aesthetic study of traditional Chinese culture, exploring both Eastern and Western literary theories, and deeply engaging with the philosophy of Yi (I Ching) and Zen realms. As a scholar in Yi studies, he pursues purity, tranquility, precision, and subtlety in painting, advocating a dynamic and life-centered aesthetic perspective. His works have been featured in specialized reports in media such as Art, China Art News, Literary Theory News, Chinese Calligraphy and Painting News, People's Daily, and China Central Television. He has published several books, including the painting collection Pinwu Hua Yu (The Language of Objects), the art theory monograph Huawen Moyu (Ink Discourse of Huawen), and The Zen-Intent Painting Collection of Li Qingzhou. Li Qingzhou’s artworks have drawn significant attention within the calligraphy and painting community. They have received high praise and recognition from eminent figures such as aesthetics authority Sun Qifeng, Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts President Huo Chunyang, Vice President Fan Yang of the National Academy of Painting, renowned scholar Li Qingxian, Professor Wang Xiaohui from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Liu Shizhi—Chief Art Editor of Guangzhou Daily, and Toshio Watanabe, President of Japan’s Nigensha Co., Ltd. Professor Li Qingzhou has led artists from the Huawen Art Society in exhibitions held at the China National Academy of Painting, the National Art Museum of China, numerous museums throughout China, and the Nigensha Gallery in Japan, where their works have been collected. Professor Li Qingzhou’s artworks have been frequently presented in academic exchanges and discussions in the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. They have received high acclaim from art institutions, organizations, and authoritative experts in Japan, South Korea, Europe, America, and Southeast Asia, and his works have been exhibited and permanently collected by overseas professional art institutions.
